Traditional Japanese Jūnihitoe
For my MA graduation I wanted to design and make my dream dress on a budget. Inspired by Kore (Persephone) Goddess of Spring.

As part of my MA I wanted to look into an area of costume that I knew nothing about. This led me to write a research book detailing what is considered the original, traditional garments of China, Japan and Thailand.
Tracing Traditional Garments
As part of my Jūnihitoe recreation I wanted to source fabric that reflected traditional Heian Period patterns. After conducting initial research I decided to recreate the aesthetic using photoshop to create designs for sublimation printing.
